Let’s Swim, an established operator with an existing site in Newport, has expanded with a new purpose-built facility located within an industrial building, featuring an above-ground fibreglass pool supported by a carefully designed plant room.
The project was delivered through a collaboration between Commercial Pool Systems and Waterlink Equipment Pty Ltd, combining construction expertise with locally engineered water treatment solutions. Together, the teams developed a compact and efficient system tailored to the demands of a learn-to-swim environment, where water quality, reliability and ease of operation are essential.
Designing a swim school within an industrial space presents a unique set of challenges, particularly around plant room layout, ventilation and maintaining consistent water conditions throughout the day. In this case, the plant room was configured to support a high-turnover environment while minimising operational complexity for staff. The focus was on creating a system that could maintain stable water quality with minimal manual intervention, allowing operators to prioritise the delivery of swim programs rather than ongoing adjustments to the plant.
Central to this approach is the integration of the Waterlink Envirogen, which produces chlorine onsite to provide a consistent and controlled sanitisation process, alongside the Waterlink Synergy LTS. Designed specifically for learn-to-swim facilities, this combination delivers a multi-barrier approach to water treatment, supporting improved water clarity, reduced combined chlorine and a more comfortable swimming environment.
The new facility builds on the success of Let’s Swim’s Newport location and reflects growing demand for accessible, high-quality swim education in Melbourne’s inner west. This growth has been recognised at both state and national level, with the business awarded the ASSA VIC Swim School of the Year 2025 and the Australian Small Business of the Year 2025. These achievements highlight the strength of the operation and reinforce the importance of well-designed facilities in supporting both customer experience and long-term business success.
Projects like this continue to demonstrate the value of close collaboration between equipment manufacturers and construction specialists. By aligning system design, product selection and installation from the outset, the outcome is a streamlined and reliable solution that meets the specific needs of modern aquatic facilities. As more swim schools explore flexible site options, including industrial conversions, this project provides a clear example of how performance, efficiency and quality can be achieved without compromise.
