About the role

Own your territory. Build meaningful relationships. Turn opportunity into results.

We are seeking an energetic, commercially driven and people-focused Business Development Representatives to own a territory while strengthening relationships with key customers across the Australian pool and spa industry.

This is not a role for someone who simply monitors reports, attends meetings and maintains the status quo.

We are looking for a driven salesperson who turns momentum into sales.

Someone who brings energy into a room, builds genuine relationships, sees opportunities others may miss and takes ownership of converting those opportunities into results. You will be naturally motivated, solutions-focused and comfortable working closely with customers, and maintaining inter-department and branch relationships.

The opportunity

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

·       Lead and develop your territory.

·       Establish clear sales targets for your territory.

·       Build a consistent sales operating rhythm in your account planning.

·       Develop and grow accounts.

·       Identify customer and market opportunities and turn them into practical sales initiatives.

·       Develop sales programs and account-specific opportunities.

·       Bring market intelligence and customer feedback into broader business decisions.

This is a hands-on sales position. You will remain close to the market and the customer and expected to maintain a visitation schedule, rather than managing solely through spreadsheets and reports or phone calls.

The person we are looking for

Personal attributes will be critical to this appointment.

The right person will be:

·       Enthusiastic, engaging and capable of creating positive momentum.

·       Naturally people-focused and genuinely interested in customers and colleagues.

·       Highly motivated to pursue results without needing to be continually coached or prompted.

·       Commercially ambitious while maintaining strong, long-term relationships.

·       Proactive and prepared to take ownership of problems through to resolution.

·       Resilient, accountable and consistent in following through on commitments.

·       Curious about the market and motivated to understand customers, competitors and emerging opportunities.

·       Collaborative in approach, but confident enough to make day-to-day decisions and move matters forward.

You do not need to be the loudest person in the room, but you must be capable of creating belief, action and accountability around you.

Experience and capability

Pool and spa industry experience is highly desirable.

Candidates with established industry relationships, product knowledge or experience working with pool builders, retailers, service technicians, distributors, buying groups or national industry accounts will be strongly regarded.

You will also ideally bring:

·       Sales experience, account management or commercial sales experience.

·       Strong customer relationship and stakeholder-management capability.

·       An understanding of sales targets, margins, product mix and account growth.

·       The ability to interpret sales information and convert it into clear actions.

·       Confidence presenting to customers.

·       Strong planning, organisation and follow-through.

·       Experience developing sales programs.

·       The ability to manage difficult conversations constructively.

Exceptional candidates from a closely aligned trade, distribution, equipment or technical sales environment may also be considered where they demonstrate the required personal attributes and commercial capability.
