Waterco appoints Jonas Ryberg to lead ANZ strategy
Waterco Limited has appointed Jonas Ryberg as head of marketing for Australia and New Zealand, strengthening its leadership team as the company builds on the market presence of Waterco, Davey Water Products and its broader brand portfolio.
Ryberg has more than 20 years’ experience in the pool and wellness industry, with more than seven years as marketing director at Fluidra Australia and New Zealand, preceded by 13 years with Zodiac Australia, as well as broader marketing experience at leading agency Ogilvy.
Throughout his career, Ryberg has led major brand and product initiatives, including the expansion of Baracuda into Bunnings, the successful relaunch of Magnapool and the development of trade loyalty programs that delivered significant channel growth.
Waterco chief operating officer Bryan Goh says Ryberg brings a rare depth of expertise in brand transformation, product innovation, and commercial growth across Australian and Asian markets, and his appointment brings a strong combination of strategic marketing expertise, industry knowledge, and hands-on commercial experience to Waterco’s ANZ operations.
“Jonas understands what it takes to turn product innovation into commercial success,” Goh says. “His experience building brands, strengthening distribution channels and connecting with both trade and consumer audiences will be invaluable as we continue developing Waterco, Davey and our wider portfolio.”
Building on Waterco’s 45-year history of innovation and growth, Goh says Ryberg’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the company and its brands.
“Waterco has spent 45 years building a reputation for innovation and engineering excellence. Jonas brings the marketing expertise and commercial vision to take that legacy to the next level, strengthening our brands, expanding our market reach and turning innovation into greater commercial success,” he says.
Ryberg will lead marketing strategy across ANZ, focusing on strengthening brand positioning, developing more strategic and impactful product launches, building trade partnerships and enhancing customer engagement.
“Waterco and Davey are two proudly Australian-owned brands with a combined heritage of more than 135 years. Both have tremendous strengths in engineering, innovation and industry expertise, and that’s a powerful story to tell,” says Ryberg.
“The opportunity is to build on those foundations with marketing that strengthens our brands, showcases our products and delivers greater value to customers.”
For Ryberg, celebrating that Australian heritage while building stronger connections with customers and the trade will be a key priority.
“I'm particularly excited about working closely with the teams to bring new ideas to market, strengthen our connection with the trade and give consumers even more reasons to choose our brands,” he says.
