TimberTech XLM Plank has been awarded the Brushfire Attack Level 29 Approval as well as Wet Barefoot ramp Class B approval.

TimberTech, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of composite decking, is the first company to receive certification of compliance up to and including Brushfire Attack Level 29 (BAL) for their XLM decking products in accordance with Australian Standards. The XLM plank was tested in Australia to be compliant with AS 3959 requirement via testing method AS1530.8 and is recognised by all major fire authorities in Australia

XLM decking also provides unparalleled slip resistance resulting in peace of mind for end users. The XLM plank was extensively tested by CSIRO to all elements of slip testing with an outstanding result in the wet barefoot ramp test (Class B). TimberTech says the result is unmatched in the Australian market.

“The wet barefoot result has been quickly picked up on by designers and builders as it’s required for commercial pool surroundings, plus the added benefit of being extremely low maintenance,” says Jeffrey Price, national product manager ITI Australia.

Plus additional benefits of stain-, scratch- and mould- resisting demonstrates further the durability of the XLM planks. There are four fade resisting colours – Mountain Cedar (deep brown), RiverRock (light grey), SandRidge (soft beige) and Desert Bronze (med brown with dark brown fleck) with two new colours to be released in 2011. It is available in 4.8m and 6m lengths. All are backed with a 25-year limited residential warranty.

Forty percent lighter than TimberTech’s wood plastic composite planks, XLM is an extremely durable expanded polymer decking material that features a solid cap to reinforce its structural integrity and is available in grooved or non-grooved planks.

Grooved planks are designed to work with CONCEALoc, TimberTech’s new stainless steel hidden fastener, which provides quick and consistent gapping while keeping a fastener free surface.
