Pool Systems appoints Joel Stern as product manager

Pool Systems has made three key appointments, starting with a new national sales manager.

Pool Systems has also appointed Joel Stern as product manager, bringing his extensive industry experience, established supplier relationships and a wealth of knowledge across Australian pool manufacturing, distribution and retail.

Stern had a long career with Stern’s Group, a third-generation Australian family business with a history dating back to 1939.

Originally established as a canvas manufacturing business, the Stern’s Group evolved into a diversified Australian manufacturer and supplier of recreational products, swimming pools and pool accessories. The business became widely recognised for its aboveground swimming pools, ranging from smaller family splash pools to larger residential installations, before expanding into fibreglass pool manufacturing in 2022.

Throughout his career, Joel has held positions spanning sales, marketing, manufacturing, procurement and executive management, ultimately serving as general manager and managing director.

His extensive experience includes developing relationships with major Australian retailers such as Big W, Kmart, Clark Rubber and Swimart, alongside managing domestic and international supplier partnerships with leading pool equipment manufacturers.

Clinen says that that, having worked across product development, manufacturing, sourcing, distribution and retail, Stern will bring a comprehensive understanding of the Australian swimming pool market and the commercial requirements of both suppliers and customers.

“In his new role, Joel will work closely with the sales, marketing, purchasing and operations teams, bringing his experience and commercial insight to product strategy, supplier engagement, range development and identifying emerging market opportunities. Based in Sydney, Joel will operate nationally, working with Pool Systems’ branch network, customers and supplier partners across Australia.”

The appointment follows the departure of Chris Hall, who has left Pool Systems to pursue other opportunities. Clinen thanks Hall for his efforts and contributions during his tenure with the business and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
